Chorus, Merckx then Veloce. Chorus and Merckx are roughly equal but the mercks is vintage and a bit weird - all depends on what you want it to look like.
It should be fine. I think my BB is a cheapo Campag one. I got an NOS Campag Chorus crankset + some bolts from Condor for a sum total of about £45. Try not to go any lower than tiagra/105 or chorus...
Octalink is a weird Shimano thing. My BB is square taper. Don't forget to look at road chainsets rather than just track cranksets. They're darn easy to convert - all you need is new bolts.
Cranks from an ebay shop (£40), bars + stem from a climbing friend. Bob brown and headset from tour de ville, wheelset from london fields (next set of wheels will be built by arup off here) and the brake in the classifieds section. It all depends how quickly you want to build it up. Is it as nice in real life as it looked in the photos?
Plastic cup? Sounds interesting... As for replying on my own page, this heat's frazzled my brain. Went in to college for an hour's registration/assembly this morning, went over onto the heath for 90 mins then went home. Fantastically productive day.
yo chris. nice playing with you guys...always fun to have new people brave enough to step in.
we only played a few more games after you left, just wasn't the same you know? keep a watch on the polo thread and keep coming out for more games!!!
