- well yes, or maybe in a lot of traffic/high speed the lockring will slip, chain fall off and tie itself in your wheel, chucking you off your bike and to your inevitable death.... :D haha unlikely but it has happened before, although it sometimes just happens when the chain snaps.
i have one break at the moment but am weening myself off of it for my future bike
i guess you must have a brake...? - oooh, is it a suicide hub? meaning a hub without track threading? (reversed threading for lockring)
If so thats what I used to have, although its not great for skidding :P and is potentially dangerous
yeahyeah I'm all for local shops - sure, give me a shout when you do, although I'll probably be there anyway as bike polo is on a sunday, right opposite BLB. It's cool looking at BLB but -if you don't mind me saying- people say their prices are over-inflated and customer service is pretty poor, and I'm sure the Fixed gear london lot can get you some stuff cheaper if you ask 'em.
- haha but seriously you need to watch mash, its just so well done - well can you expect any less from gabe morford? :P - and the skill involved is pretty immense
looking forward to macaframa aswell
@ pimping track bike: yeah i guess everyone does, but tbh for most things they're pretty impractical, and I think I'm gona stick to 2nd hand and vintage stuff, untill ted (superted - sponsored by charge etc) gets his designs done for a trick specific bike for charge to make. I may be tempted by one of those
well, if you're ever in london give me a call or something
hmm, you're new so I can't private message you my number, but drop me a message if you're down - 2 months? same here. haha I hang out with fixed gear london, they're pretty cool guys, and have you seen the new bootleg sessions? its pretty cool.
i brought an old roadie off ebay aswell, then got a new back wheel etc.
so where do you ride/live? - welllll..... i been ridin about two months now i suppose. I first got into it cause my freind got given a old school road bike but he couldnt ride it so he just gave it to me and i just loved the speed of it and the free feeling lol anyway then i sorta found all the fixed stuff on the internet like fixedgearlondon n bootleg sessions n macaframa and shit and anyway it looked pretty wicked so i decided i'd buy an old ebay roadie and convert it myself whickh i did and here i am lololol yeah one of my freinds is a proper roadie kid n does all racin n shit n he really likes the fixie so we are preparing to go shoppin for one for him in the summer suometime im like the only person where i live that rides fixed!! hows about you??
- paddy you are 16?
