I'm concerned that there won't be enough threads forthe beefy freewheel - is there enough space to put a Shimano / White Industries cog? I don't have any experience with Phil hubs so would love some advice from those who have used them.

Thanks...

I used the search already, but couldn't find the exact answer and couldn't be bothered to spend hours on it.

So...

I'm going to be doing a mixture of road/track and need a sealed unit. MUST be sealed as the bb shell is drilled.

Needs to fit modern Campag Pista cranks (square taper 68mm shell)

Phil Wood?

What else is sealed, would fit and is maybe cheaper than the Phil?

The other options I can find seem to be 111mm which I think is for double chainsets, am I right?

Thanks...

Hi All,

Ive recently picked up a 2nd hand pair of Mavic Open Pros (laced to DA 7800 Hubs). These were very reasonably priced and they have covered a reasonable amount of distance.

The rim braking surface is slightly concave, rather then perfectly flat. Is this part of the design or are the rims almost worn out (i expect the latter).

Thanks

It's not that important, just a geeky curiosity.

Sure, i've heard about Kevlar and Aramid puncture protection, but never Calicot.

i have Googled but perhaps not enough. It'll be interesting to find out.

"Obree spent a year and a half training on the bike which worked brilliantly on the road. Despite his age he was clocking some promising times. ...
But when Obree took to Manchester’s velodrome for a trial run in August it went badly wrong. Watched by former national British cycling coach Doug Daley, Obree’s bike proved useless.
“That whole riding style that I was reliant on to support your arms didn’t work on the bankings. And most of it is banking, let’s face it!” said Obree."
