Karmic retribution can be swift and brutal.

This twat in an M3 convertible buzzed us at 40mph+ this morning in Richmond fucking Park (yes the place with the baby deer and 20 mph speed limit) and we collectively wished all manner of shit to befall him.

60 seconds later we come across two cars pulled over to the side of the road and the same M3 on it's roof by a tree with it's driver bleeding from his nose. He'd tried to overtake them both of them and clipped one and rolled/flipped.

Incredibly he was the only person hurt by his unbelievably stupid and arrogant behaviour, and he manged to do it just as an ambulance was driving through the park too.

Richmond Park Winter Training 2009/2010

Given Richmond...

Claus and I have discussed this and we’re about to re-launch the Winter Training Richmond Park, as organised by Rob last year.

Given Richmond Park has its limitations with regards to specific track training, traffic, deer, London Dynamo, nonetheless it still provides a great venue for some decent training, which can provide riders with a solid base fitness come the new season (it certainly worked for me).

However, the focus will still very much be fixed riding and the usual requirements will apply:

- We advise GI in the mid-low 60s, as 63 averages 100 rpm on 20:00 min laps; your training will also dictate GI, but keep in mind this is a group training so try to make the most out of it.
- Taped drops with brakes are also a must.

The training will revolve around a three laps of RP and we may depending on numbers and ability split into two groups (fast & medium).

The intention is to meet at ROEHAMPTON GATE CAR-PARK at 8:50am and get underway for 9:00am. We will start off counter clock wise, so if you are unfortunately late, try to catch up, shortcut or wait.

Hope to see you out there!

We will start this Saturday Nov 14th. After the training you can get coffee and do it all over again when Jonny and his 40s ride arrives probably around 11:30.

Thursday, 10th December 2009, 11pm

HI

We did this last year and in the last few weeks people have been asking me if we'll do it again, so here we are. London is a truly beautiful place after hours.. this is a special late night stealth ride which goes out into the night, taking in well known areas and places way off the beaten track. There'll be fast bits and slow bits, I think last year everyone got to see things they had never seen before and we all had a great time.

For an idea of last year's ride see http://www.londonfgss.com/thread13008.html, though it does contain spoilers..

I'll be hoping to make it even better this year so the route won't be entirely the same and we'll start half an hour earlier, at 11pm. The meeting point may not be the same this year so keep posted.. As before the route will be given out on the night so the surprise element is in there.. and as last year for reasons of stealth and time there is a ride limit of fifty riders.

Cheers

rider limit now reached, watch out for cancellations..

Ben is looking to get his arse whipped proper style on his Birthday.

So, there will be some events taking place around the Emirates Stadium.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&...FMbKjAeTy4naCg

Events to include;

Circle Sprint round the Stadium
Track Stand
Longest Skid
and more.... (Suggestions welcome)

Its got a great smooth surface, so if the rain holds off, should prove to be a great night of mayhem.

Should the weather hamper us completely; alternative venue shall be sought out.

Not sure where we'll be off to post event, but sure there will be much drinking fun.

Should have some decent spoke cards arranged by the night.

A simply scrumptious Curry House called Sharod in Barkingside (near Ilford), great food, awesome service, and I know the guys pretty well so they are happy to let us virtually take over the place for the evening, if we should so desire.
The route is pretty nice, quite chilled and not a lot of heavy traffic, especially on a Saturday, around 10-11 miles each way, at a relaxed pace, not slow, but not crazy fast or racing, also just to warn you all there are a couple of minor hills to climb on the way there (one that is steep-ish), but on the way back its all downhill/flat which makes it all the more rewarding!

Food is quite reasonably priced (the beer is too), plus there is a good selection of Vegetarian/vegan stuff for those whose dietary needs require it.
But the best bit about the evening is that just like last time, my parents are happy to give up their garden for the evening to take care of our bikes, so we can relax a little knowing they are not being left out in the streets, however I recommend that you still bring locks regardless.
From there its a bout 5-7 minute walk to The Curry House, where the copious amounts of food/beer consumption can begin :)

One important note please, no racing off ahead unless you know the route like the back of your hand and want to leave the pack/go it on your own, last time two people very stupidly almost ended up on a Dual carriageway because they thought it was wise to shoot ahead of the pack on a route they didn't know at all, which resulted in me chasing after them and inadvertently leading everyone else onto the same dual carriageway to try and stop them from killing themselves, (not forgetting the long walk of shame because it was too dangerous to walk back up the slip road).
Anyways, I don't want a repeat of that situation so this is just an advance warning to anyone coming on this ride, if you do something stupid like that this time, i'm not gonna put everyone else at risk again to allow for your idiocy.
Apologies in advance to everyone for the sterness of the above warning, but I would like everyone to enjoy the ride as much as possible :)

Ride starts at the top of Brick Lane 7PM, with intended arrival at the Curryhouse by 8:30pm

Hi Everybody, After many discussions today at the Espresso RIde I feel sufficently emboldened to suggest a ride on the 19th December starting at the Christmas market at Somerset House. The theme as you can gather will be be a peloton of Santas, Frosty the Snowmans and Elves. Once again there will be prizes galore and I shall try and blag catering from a publishing firm that will be at the market.

The proposed route is Trafalgar Square, St. James, Regent Street, Oxford Street (stop at Selfridges), Picadilly, Knightsbridge (stop at Harvey Nicks or Harrods) and then the Natural History Museum.

Any suggestions?

its a local haunt of mine so i'd be happy to guide

usual trek is High Beech at Carls tea hut to Whips Cross cafe and back

nearest U/G is Chingford so could pick up some riders from there en route, others could drop off at Whips Cross if they want, also easily accessed from river Lee

just picking up on interest for now and sort date later if enough interest, but probably be a Thursday or Sunday, shift work allowing
