Put your local police station's phone number on your mobile on speed dial

Know your route so that you can tell the police / ambulance your exact location

If you are injured, phone the police immediately

Note the car registration

Take a photo of the accident showing vehicles in crash positions

Take a photo of the driver (the driver who drove over Norman's front wheel denied he was in the car - said someone stole the car)

Take names and addresses of any witnesses

Contact Cycle Aid 01772 250871 - Norman got around £1200 when he claimed.

I reckon we should put ourselves forward to host this if it ends up being a one off tourney. Have a read through and if you want to add anything pm me your email and i'll forward you the email so you can reply to everyone on the list. Read from the bottom up.

Hello all,
here in Cambridge we were planning to do another tournament in the early summer next year , hopefully improving on what we did last year. I would prefer if it was open to anyone from anywhere though, and not exclusively UK . Geographic and financial constrains will probably mean we won't get anyone( or many ?) people from the US or Europe coming to Cambridge next year but it would be shame to turn away anyone prepared to make the journey . Whether we would want to host a UK only tournament as well as our annual thingy ? I would be interested, depending how much help we were offered and when in the year .
Cheers
I'm going to add in:
Edinburgh simply doesn't have the infrastructure to host a tournament of this scale. We've only got one court so far, and it is pretty poor. We also have maybe 9 people who play regularly- although weekly turnout is often not enough for a game of 3on3. So we're in much the same boat as Newcastle.

I'm keen for the idea of regional leagues, with some kind of national sub-league maybe?
Hello all,

Thought it was about time someone kicked this off. I think we can rule Newcastle out of the potential hosts for the UKs. As much as we'd like to, we just don't have enough people playing (= beds, general organisation etc) to hold a full-blown tournament.

I remember talking to the Manchester guys at the Cambridge tournament about a national league. Personally I'd love to get the opportunity to play other teams more often and every city has the potential to host a couple of teams every few weeks. I can see maybe three or four teams playing at one venue, once a month or something and travelling in between. Only flaw is, I'm sure the motivation is more for the non-Londoners as obviously you guys already have a competitive league that's doing everything you want it to do without travelling 300 miles for the pleasure. I can maybe see a Northern League working though. There was a small but entertaining tournament in Edinburgh a few weeks back that could easily be extended/repeated.

So, for what it's worth, there's my 2p...
Subject: UK Polo Championship 2010

Hello Polo People,

So there has been quite a bit of talk about holding a UK Polo Championship in 2010. I think the consensus here in London is that we don't want to host another large tournament again any time soon, and it's probably a good idea for us Londoners to actually leave the city and see other parts of the country every now and then, so any cities want to step up and play host? This email is intended to start the discussion that hopefully ends with an awesome tournament next year.

With regards to the format, an obvious choice is to have a 1 day tournament, similiar to the BFF tournament that was held here in September. But Dr Chan from Manchester suggested more of an ongoing competition, with teams playing fixtures throughout the year. What are your thoughts on this? How would it work? Is that what we want? Any other suggestions?

I have copied in people form Oxford, Cambridge, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle, but please forward this on to anyone else who may be interested in/or should be involved in this discussion. If we need to, I can set up a google email group that may make this discussion easier.

Here's hoping to see you all in 2010.

WHAT THE FUCK? Some members of the public need to be shot in the fucking head.

I was tanking it down Oldham Street where it turns into Piccadilly Gardens, lights ahead green so I don't bother slowing. About 40 meters away some guy and his bird walk into the road, and spot me. No worries I think, swing out towards the right to go in front of them. As I get to maybe a meter or two away, the guy lunges at me, yells OI and swing both arms up in a grab. I swerve away to the right, but cause of my speed and already being to the right I graze the curb and fully shoulderbarge an asian woman into the ground with my right shoulder. I spin out and ditch the bike, running over to see if the woman is alright.

She says she's ok in broken english so I get up to find the fucker, only to see him and his bird sprinting away LAUGHING. Fucking LAUGHING. If I'd had hit that girl harder or hit the traffic light I or her would have been really fucked up.

No-one even bothered stopping to help. One guy helped the woman up and asked if I was alright but apart from that everyone just gaped at us and kept walking.

I dunno what I would have done if I the guy hadn't run away. I had my d-lock in my hand already. I had to sit down and have a cigarette to calm down. I'm still fucking shaking now. What kind of thoughtless cunt would do something like this? No fucking point taking it to the police as all I can remember is white guy, short hair.

To top it all off, when I came out of Uni today someone has stolen my Sunday Social spoke card, and ripped my tiny Eiffel tower off my saddle. My friend gave me that and it's really quite special to me. How fucked in the mind do you have to be to steal stuff like that, which means nothing to you?

I'm fucking furious about this whole thing. I swear, next person who does something so fucking cruel is going to get d-locked. I'm a pretty chill guy most of the time but this is a step to fucking far.

cue 'Mad As Hell' youtube; and, before you ask, my hair was fine, don't worry.
