We hereby declare South London Drinks will be formally opened by sitting down and drinking beverages of your choosing at the Trinity Arms Brixton, SW9

Too many choices! If its going to be a potential summer drinking venue, what about pubs with outdoor space?

Borough? - that pub with the massive courtyard?
Vauxhall? - there's that pub in the hell hole that is St George's Wharf, but it looks out onto the river
Peckham? - the bar in the railway arches?

The Rose and Crown behind Southwark tube's got a big garden, the landlord's a total pillock but it's a nice spot for a tipple... Barely south tho', so you may attract the wrong north crowd...

Well up for Southside drinks but I'd rather put razor blades in my mouth than be seen in Clapham. Plenty of other places surely*.....

The Trinity Arms in Brixton then? - got outside seats, enough railings to support a war effort and a little park thing in the middle. And it sells bitter. That said, Clever Square's got the same but its more expensive.

Peckham's got that studoid-ish bar under the arches off Rye Lane, its got a yard - SLondon polo drinks ended up there once.

I don't go to clapham.

as the summer progresses, I plan to be at the BMX track atr least one evening a week in good weather, so any pubs round there are ideal, though I'll be on a man's bike rather than my hip-hop slave fixie bike

I was gonna suggest that, mini urban keirin round the sqaure too! Only one murder there in the last year, that's gotta be a plus point... Only downside is it's a bit 'Young's' if you know what I mean? Offensive decor too...
Bike stand out the front, bikes have gone missing from there before tho'...
Carlton'll sometimes let you take a bike in the beer garden, not if it's busy tho'...
Prince Regent nr. Herne Hill? Bit gastro but loads of space for bikes... I know Snowy's a regular...

Don't make it the Regent, its so close to me there's no point in riding to it! And in my defence, I was a regular there before its gastrotwunt makeover, when you could dump your bike in the pub, and Alex would let you ride his kids bikes around the rooms upstairs. That and the lax application of the law. The current German bar girl is very keen to do a HH track induction though. Once its the summer we could do a rotating venue - its only five minutes between four of the pubs listed up there ^^^

The Regent used to be my local till they wanked it up! Such a shame, had some good times in there. The Commercial in Herne Hill is OK

trying to get you lot to decide on anything, is like wrestling a pig in shit. Rather than pissing and whining about where we should hold the drinks why don't we just hold the drinks and then we can figure out a rotating venue for our ongoing enjoyment. ;-P
Westie drinks work because a venue was chosen a date was set and people went and drank there. It has now become tradition and a fixture in the lfgss drinking calendar. I repeat it is more important to get drinking, and get the ball rolling, than waffle on about where we should drink.
Clapham was put forward as a venue as previously posted in the spotted thread, I'll go where the majority decide, but lets just decide on somewhere. ;-)

+1 for Trinity. Effra's good too - both off the main strip but I think bike parking would be easier at the Trinity.

I used to live on Kellett Rd, about 5 doors down from the Effra. Loved going there.
