| | "Anyhow I am impressed with the speed of this bike I was overtaking other riders on the straight. lol I even started to believe I was some sort of courier rider lol." I love the bike - I've been literally flying round London, and lots of cycle couriers have been eyeing it up! Cheers Rory hahahaha is it me or are those bars kind curved towards the front? |

| | This guy has been doing conversions for a while. He buys old racers, matches chain to bar-tape / grips and adds £100 to the price. He started off this time last year at about £120 a pop. Now he's up to £200. Don't fall for it. Get your hands grubby. Buy your own old racer and get a flip/flop rear wheel with the money you save. Feels much better on a conversion you did yourself. |

| | Theres a lovely Roy Thame (Holdsworth) on gumtree that probably shouldn't be fixerised, but if you want to ride a bike it's a great start - 100 quid in London. that £200 conversion has a freewheel, they cost 6 pounds. DIY! And you won't be giving extra dorrar to Jim'll fix it up there... EDIT http://www.gumtree.com/london/55/19548855.html ![]() you will also need single chainring bolts.. fiver. |

| | Old-skool!! if it is large and has some original bits on it I may be interested 84... I think I can just about remember them. ;-) I heard that they do make good commuter conversions, as the geometry is more like a touring bike than a modern MTB. If it fits you, go for it. |

Read up about conversions in general Google you questions first then search here the ask here lotts of help to be had. Learn to build a wheel or people on here will do it for 15- 10 gbp labor. You will make mistakes but they will not be that bad. Just make sure you do up your cog and lock ring tight. :)

Here's more: buy new back wheel with fixed/free hub, probably needs to be 126mm or 130mm (measure the frame across the rear stays to check). Remove old wheel with gears. Remove Deraillieur. Remove paraphernalia associated with gear-changing. Affix new wheel. Put chain on. Get on it and ride it. It's not rocket surgery.
