l'eroica best bodge ever

recently went to l'eroica in italy, log story about the trip and the race etc but this bit is worth telling...

75km in, our mates bob's stem snapped in half (from his 1937 Raleigh singlespeed)

rather than calling it a day and getting a lift back, we instead bodged it with whatever we had around and he raced back maybe 1500ft of climbing up and down roads and 'strada bianco; (white gravel roads) 60km back!!

and he beat us home!
